After two years of abstinence, the NY Auto Show is finally back! Around 1,000 cars will be displayed in the Javits Center that features 1 million sq ft of display area, including some high profile launches and unveilings. For the first time, there will also be a micro mobility exhibit. We had the opportunity to attend the press and media days. Below are our favorite cars from this year’s show.
Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica
Lamborghini has added another car to its collection and the Huracan Tecnica premiered at this year’s show. It is a marvelous piece of engineering and design. While being inspired by the Huracan Super Trofeo, the Tecnica has an improved design to enhance aerodynamics and stability and reduce drag. Combined with the green color of the display car, we think it looks even more aggressive than its predecessor. Its V10 engine accelerates the Tecnica from 0 – 100km/h in 3.2s and can reach a top speed of 325 km/h.
Rolls-Royce Ghost
While not a new car, any Rolls-Royce car is worth a visit if you haven’t seen it yet. The British luxury automaker brought a red version of its Ghost to this year’s NY Auto Show. Costing you upwards of $340,000, the Ghost redefines what luxury is. It’s not a car that you drive but want to get driven in. The 2022 version comes with enhanced steering and suspension to make you even feel more like sitting on a magical carpet gliding across the streets while enjoying all the amenities, such as the famous starlight headliner, that the car has to offer.
Nissan Formula E Car
To promote Formula E, Nissan is showcasing their race car and it is a must see for all motorsport enthusiasts. The Formula E New York City Grand Prix will be held on July 16th and 17th and is now in its 5th year. After five rounds of racing in the 2022 season, Nissan is 8th among 10 teams so we will be curious to see if they can improve until then.
Camp Jeep
When visiting the NY Auto Show, make sure you head outside to Camp Jeep. You will be joining your driver and tackle an obstacle course in a Rubicon. The obstacle course includes a 45-degree, 18 ft tall mountain, an off-camber ramp, a staircase and other obstacles. If you like having adrenaline rushes, you cannot miss this.
