After expanding his brand to the watch, sunglass and perfume industry, fashion designer Philipp Plein has launched his latest endeavor – this time he is taking on the furniture industry. His collection “Not Your Parent’s Furniture” launched at Milan’s Salon di Mobile which is back after taking a two-year break. This year, more than 400,000 attendees came to Milan to see and experience the latest trends in the world of furniture and interior design.
Plein has collaborated with the Dutch luxury furniture manufacturer Eichholtz to design his collection. He is a big fan of the brand himself and Eichholtz is featured in his personal houses, too. One of the many examples is the light installation at Plein’s Bel Air mansion called “Chateau Falconview”. The collaboration features various pieces: from carpets to pillows to tables and sculptures, true Philipp Plein fans will find plenty items to design their house in a way Philipp Plein would design his own.
As you would expect from Philipp Pein, the 160-piece collection is a mix of being loud, flashy, decadent and opulent. Expect leopard prints, jungle prints, golden skulls and much more. But there are also some more subtle pieces such as yellow cashmere pillows that just have the Plein logo printed on them. You can explore and shop the full collection here. It is definitely a furniture collection that will make your home or house stand out from others. In a way, this collection closes a circle for the German fashion designer. Before becoming famous with his fashion line, Plein started out by designing steel furniture out of his parent’s basement.
Of course, Philipp Plein wouldn’t just quietly launch a new project. As he has done many times in the past, Plein hosted a memorable launch event in Milan to celebrate with exclusive guests and VIP customers. We were enjoying bites, cocktails, music and the Plein collection until late!
