Louis Vuitton Women’s SS24 Show Is a Highlight of PFW

The new collection by Nicolas Ghesquière, Artistic Director for Louis Vuitton women’s collections, was presented in the Maison’s future address at 103 avenue des Champs Élysées.

Against a backdrop of recycled and recyclable draping in mandarin orange, evoking the interior of a hot-air balloon, the silhouettes were an invitation to travel as the unique voice of French singer Zaho de Sagazan filled the space. James Chinlund’s scenography bathed the collection in warm summer light. Louis Vuitton women walked in complete freedom, hands in the pockets of their jackets in exquisitely supple leather atop flowing dresses in mousseline, crepe and charmeuse. Striped shirts are inspired by hotel decorative fabrics. Graphic lines and checks seem to float up and away with each look.

A new crossed belt comes in solid, monogram and checkerboard signatures. The hotel groom is reinvented in light ensembles held up by skinny suspenders. Bomber jackets are paired with miniskirts. Volumes and layering celebrate a multi-faceted femininity, embracing romanticism and tailoring. Illusion and innovation come together in tweed-like bouclé fabric made from technical fibers and embroidered with micro-pearls. New versions of the Alma bag have an easy-to-grab handle, and a camera bag is worn around the neck, adding to the chic allure of the airy Louis Vuitton silhouettes.
