Whether you’re chilling out in St. Barts or partying it up in Ibiza, you want to look your absolute best from the moment you step off of the plane. With these luxurious destinations, there’s always a chance for a photo opt. However, those long flights and cabin latitude (which hinders blood flow to the skin) can easily leave us looking tired and dull. Plus, the air on planes can leave us prone to dryness in lips, eyes, and skin. Here are a few mile-high beauty tips for you to look as radiant and beautiful as your desired location!

Hydrate from the Inside
Although its nice and energizing to enjoy an in-flight coffee or cocktail, it’s crucial to balance with plenty of water. As appealing as it sounds to indulge in sugar-filled drinks this is the worst thing you could do for your body; especially on long-haul flights. Do not drink soda, coffee or wine. These beverages are dehydrating no matter what, and we are more prone to dryness and bloating from the low-humid air. Request a fruit bowl or bring one with you on the flight and put the fruit in your water to create a fruit infused drink that will leave you craving more H2O than you typically would. Consuming large amounts of water will increase the amount of trips to the restroom and therefore will ensure less of a chance of DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) where a blood clot will form in a vein in your body. Be smart and hydrate as much as possible.
Eu Naturale
We love to look our best for those jet-setter selfies, but it’s ideal to hop on-board with a bare face. With dry air and stress, makeup will only add to breakout proneness. Pre-flight cleansing will prevent blocked pores and leave your skin fresh and ready for your destination. A few simple tips to looking your best, try using face masks, makeup removers, and moisturizers. Dabbing on moisturizer every other hour can deeply reduce breakouts and dry skin leaving you ready to take on the world once you land.
Pre-Landing Makeover
Before landing, mist your face and apply a light moisturizer. If you’d like to add a little color to your face, dab a thin layer of Nars SPF 30 tinted moisturizer and/or concealer. Add a moisturizing lip color such as Yves Saint Laurent’s Volupte Tint-in-Balm and hydration-restoring mascara such as Tarte Gifted Amazonian Mascara. Try these tricks and you will leave the plane looking your best.
Bon Voyage!
