Another week means another Best and Worst Dressed of the Week column! Fashion Week season is just around the corner so let’s see who is ready for the front row and who still needs some time. From left to right, here we go!
BEST DRESSED
1. EMILY RATAJKOWSKI
I must start with this London-born beauty since she made last week’s Best Dressed list in Balmain. This week, she continued to promote her movie with Zac Efron, “We Are Your Friends”, at the film’s Miami premiere. She opted for a super chic Alexandre Vauthier Haute Couture black jumpsuit with Elisabetta Franchi booties. And just in case we forgot about her snatched waistline, she added a black and gold belt to accent a gold Lee Savage clutch. Every aspect of this look is modern, edgy, and glamorous!
2. KYLIE JENNER
Yes, I said Kylie Jenner. You may not enjoy keeping up with the Kardashians, but I’m not going to sit back and act like they aren’t major style influencers. The youngest of the clan, Kylie Jenner, recently celebrated her eighteenth birthday presented by Inlist in Montreal in a fun and sexy Nicolas Jebran dress with Stuart Weitzman heels. Jebran is a Lebanese designer known for multicolored, artistic designs and his work was a true masterpiece on Jenner to celebrate finally becoming a legal adult.
3. HOLLAND RODEN
This was a perfect example of balancing sophistication with sex appeal. Roden attended the Los Angeles premiere of “She’s Funny That Way” in a Self-Portrait midi dress that was sheer in all of the right places. This dress has very revealing parts but still celebrates intricate attention to detail in its design. Han Chong just established the brand in 2013 and is known for using lace and embroidery to create contemporary eveningwear. Roden’s black pumps were the perfect cherry on top of an elegant cake.
4. KRISTEN STEWART
KStew has a very versatile range with her style, from punky edge to grungy masculine. At the Los Angeles premiere of her new movie “American Ultra”, however, she went for straight up glam in a sequined Zuhair Murad romper with timeless pointed-toe Jimmy Schoo pumps. Despite the daringly low cut of both the neckline and the hem of the romper, Murad’s imaginatice floral design still stood out in this look. Not only did the actress flaunt her incredible figure, but the allure of the dress also did not overwhelm her. Murad is a favorite designer of J. Lo, so you clearly need some level of confidence!
WORST DRESSED
1. TAYLOR SCHILLING
Ladies, a word of advice: if you have a loud, statement piece, which includes a pair of shoes, let that piece stand out in your outfit and keep the rest simple. There was way too much going on with Taylor Schilling’s outfit at the “WXXX is Next” launch event in New York City. I want to enjoy the sheer polka dot blouse, but then I get distracted by the print of the navy shorts, and then I’m just lost in the Giuseppe Zanotti Design sandals. One, actually two, of these things certainly do not belong.
2. IGGY AZALEA
Once again, this look just had too much going on. The Australian rapper was back in her home country at a fan meet and greet in Sydney this week and her look was very overwhelming. The Sass & Bide cape is a great piece, but the matronly turtleneck paired with trendy ripped jeans created an odd ensemble. Not to mention, the chunky booties were a random choice that mostly reminded me of a really rich cowboy.
3. HEIDI KLUM
What is it with the blondes this week?! Unfortunately, I had to put Heidi Klum on this list for the second week in a row. Her black mini-dress at an after-show event for “America’s Got Talent” did nothing for her amazing figure and was actually quite underwhelming compared to last week’s look. She’s a supermodel for goodness sake – where’s the couture and the drama?!
4. AMY SCHUMER
Schumer is definitely the comedian of the moment, but the real joke was this look at the Dublin premiere of her hit “Trainwreck” film. This served as a great reminder to all women: a metallic halter dress doesn’t look good on anyone. Please leave that at the 1985 school dance, where it belongs.
