Designer Dennis Basso unveiled his FW25 collection during New York Fashion Week, presenting a tribute to the enduring elegance of the New York woman. The event took place on February 11 at the historic Columbus Foundation on the Upper East Side, a Gilded Age mansion that provided a fitting backdrop for Basso’s opulent designs.
Basso’s latest collection was a love letter to the dynamic women of New York—past and present. Drawing inspiration from decades of style icons, he crafted pieces that embody strength, intelligence, and effortless glamour. While the collection featured his signature extravagant coats and elegant eveningwear, there was also emphasis on practicality, with cocktail pant suits and dinner dresses being featured. His use of tweeds, silk charmeuse, duchess satin, and velvet lent a tactile richness to each piece, further elevated by intricate embroidery and embellishments.
The color story for Fall 2025 was a masterclass in understated luxury. Champagne, cream, and off-white formed the base, subtly enhanced by gold accents. Meanwhile, deep Bordeaux and classic black added depth and drama to the collection. Tweeds and pearl detailing reinforced the collection’s theme—bringing a touch of old-world glamour into a contemporary framework.
More than 300 guests attended the immersive showcase, which unfolded in five vignettes within the historic venue. Each segment highlighted a different facet of Basso’s vision, from daywear chic to show-stopping evening gowns. The setting, with its Gilded Age opulence, provided the perfect complement to the collection’s grandeur.
