Formula 1 Comes to Las Vegas

Formula 1 Comes to Las Vegas

written by Global Glam April 19, 2022

A little while ago, we published our Glam Guide to the F1 2022 season. Even though the season has just begun, we already know that next year will have another main Glam race. Formula 1 returns to the city of Las Vegas. And no, this time it won’t be like the 1981 and 1982 race that was held in the parking lot of the Caesars Palace which has often been described as one of the worst Formula 1 circuits in history.

This time, the 3.8-mile track will cover three straights, including a long section of the Las Vegas Strip where cars are expected to reach 212 mph, high-speed corner sequences and a chicane section. It will definitely be one of the high-speed street circuits in the F1 calendar. The track will feature iconic landmark locations such as the Bellagio, Caesars Palace and the Venetian. The announcement was made at a high-profile event and included CEO Stefano Domenicalli, Greg Maffei of Liberty Media and Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak.

The event is set to take place in November 2023 so it will be one of the last races of the season. We wonder if the World Championship title could actually be decided in Sin City. With the addition of Las Vegas, there will now be three races in the US (Miami and Austin being the other ones), making the US the country with the most races in the calendar.

A video of the new track layout can be found here.
