We’ve seen flutter sleeves alight and peplum designs circling off-the-shoulder tops. We’ve seen Victorian blousing make a comeback under blazers and layered under evening dresses. Frills were all the rage this past summer but we don’t think they’re going anywhere. They are being creatively applied to shirts, dresses, jackets and even shoes for the volume you never thought you needed in your life. Frills can add texture to your outfit and serve to complement your body type which explains why we’ve seen them anchor down collections like Zimmermann’s and being paraded down runways as intricate detailing. Elaborate pieces can be worn to special events while pieces with cleaner silhouettes are perfect for your everyday wear. Here, I’ve gathered a selection of fashion’s favorite design which has been changing the silhouette game since… well, since the 16th century. Happy shopping!
