The New Glamping “Glamorous Camping” Trend: Where you can still use your cell phone and fly in your chopper
The general public became more acquainted with glamping when recently, film director Guy Ritchie had all of his wedding guests ‘glamp’ for a couple nights by setting up luxury cabins on his Wiltshire estate for his wedding. Guests that stayed in his ‘up-scale’ tents included Brad Pitt, David Beckham, Henry Cavill, Jason Statham and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to name a few: See Pic above for his ‘Glamped up’ wedding.
Glamping is a perfect mix of glamour and camping and describes a style of camping with amenities and, sometimes, resort-style services not usually associated with “traditional” camping. As it become the new trend of the world of luxury travel, people who usually don’t camp (I’m one of them) can now enjoy the luxuries of a 5 star resort in a little tree house tent overlooking a tropical jungle. Some conveniences include: a Camping Butler, wooden floors with Persian carpets, electricity with chandelier lighting, and cooling fans and heaters. Glamping has its roots in the early 1900s European and American safaris in Africa. Wealthy travellers accustomed to comfort and luxury did not want to sacrifice either, and their campsites and pampered wilderness lifestyles reflected it.
Glamping comes in all forms and are availible worldwide.
