La Mamounia – Marrakech, Morocco
La Momounia Spa can be found in the palace-hotel in Marrakesh, located in Western Morocco. This spa is perfect for those who want to explore a new part of the world without giving up luxury and pampering. The spa includes hundreds of treatments including 60-minute massages, facials, pedicures, and even a “lightness treatment” which reactivates blood circulation in the body from a combination of heat and cold. Whether you want a treatment after a long day exploring a city or spa specific getaway, this place is hard to resist.
Grand Hotel Tremezzo – Lake Como, Italy
This resort, located on Lake Como is home to the T-Spa. The T-Spa has the same amenities as most luxury spas but what makes it stand out are the specialty spa suites. The first, T-Spa Suite, is a couple suite which can be reserved for up to two hours. The suite offers a 50 or 80-minute couple massage and then the ability to enjoy the whirlpool tub, sauna, and Turkish bath as well as herbal tea and baked goods to enjoy once the massages are over. The other suite, the hammam suite embraces a traditional Turkish cleansing ritual. The chamber is made completely of Italian Lasa white marble and includes a scrub plinth, a shower, a couple’s bathtub and a steam room. The services offered in the hammam suite include body exfoliation, mud wraps, and massages. The Amangiri resort and spa, located in Canyon Point, Utah offers spa treatments inspired by Navajo healing tradition through elements of earth, wind, fire and water. The spa offers an assortment of facials, massages and manicure/pedicures but it also offers more unique treatments. These treatments include flotation therapy with water from the Dead Sea, red clay body wrap and cranial sacral therapy which is a process where a therapist uses light pressure to heighten your body’s own awareness and innate ability to relieve back and neck pain. The wellness portion of the resort also includes Pilates classes, yoga classes and personal training. The Amangiri can be home to a spa vacation or the wellness center can be used after a long day of hiking.
This spa/wellness resort is located in the Peloponnesian country side and is surrounded by lavender fields and olive groves. The spa complex includes seven treatment rooms, two of which are located in an outdoor pavilion, a fitness center, yoga pavilion, pilates studio and steam and cold plunge pools. Monastero Santa Rosa – Conca dei Marini SA, Italy
This spa is located on the iconic Amalfi Coast in Italy. The spa and resort is located in a former monastery from the 17th century. The building has been updated but the original structure remains. The spa embraces its Italian heritage with a Thermal suite. This consists of interconnected warm rooms through arched doors and level changes so that there is a new discovery every corner. This suite also features pomegranate infused foots spas, mosaic loungers, aromatic steam room, rock sauna and crushed ice fountain to refresh. The other spa treatments include massages, facials, and aromatic scrubs. All treatments are offered of guest’s choice of three treatment rooms, one of which is located outdoors. After the spa experience, guest can lounge in the pool and enjoy the breathtaking views.
Thermae Bath Spa – Bath, England
Thermae Bath Spa combines the old and new for a unique spa experience. Britain’s only thermal waters allow the same experience as Romans and Celtics did over 2000 years ago with the luxury of an otherwise modern spa. The spa features the New Royal Bath (pictured above), a Miverva bath, Roman and Georgian steam rooms, infrared sauna, ice chamber and the spring café restaurant. The spa also offers unique services like 20 minutes in the Kraxen Stove where you are seated in a traditional Alpine Hay Chamber where hay and natural herbs are released though a stove which can relieve shoulder tension. Other therapies include hot stone massages, facials and the Vichy Rainforest Shower which combines light, sound and water to stimulate and soothe soft tissue in the body. After treatments guest are allowed two hours to enjoy the views overlooking the city in the New Royal Bath.
