Maserati has launched its second SUV ever. The Maserati Levante was first introduced in 2016 and now it is back. After delaying the launch in 2021 due to the global chip shortage, Maserati has introduced an updated version of the car. It is Maserati’s answer to the Porsche Cayenne, BMW X6 or the Lamborghini Urus.
The Levante will come in four versions: The GT, the Modena and Modena S and the Trofeo. Prices range from ~$82,000 to ~156,000. The Trofeo – the most powerful version of the Levante – will have a 3.8l, V8 engine producing 580 hp and a maximum speed of 187 mph. It will make 0-60mph in 3.8 seconds. The interior of the car looks rich and luxurious which can probably be attributed to the collaboration with the Italian fashion label Ermenegildo Zegna that designs the leather. The Levante is equipped with the latest technology such as Harman Kardon and Bowers & Wilkins sound systems, ZF eight-speed automatic transmission, a highway assist system and four zone climate control.
However, Maserati is not going to stop here. The company also announced its plans for the 2023 Grecale. Starting at just ~$65,000 the Grecale aims to take on the mid-price segment such as the Porsche Macan or the Jaguar F-pace. In 2024 the Grecale line is expected to be expanded by the Grecale Folgore, a fully electric version of the car. We cannot wait to test drive the latest Maserati SUVs. The luxury SUV space is definitely heating up again and we will be looking out to see how Maserati’s competition is going to respond.
