Designer Son Jung Wan returned to New York Fashion Week with a stunning showcase of her Spring/Summer 2025 collection, “The Wonder of Diversity.” Held at the IAC Building in New York City on September 7th, the show was a captivating display of artistry and creativity. Known for her signature style that effortlessly blends feminine elegance with bold creativity, the South Korean designer has once again demonstrated her ability to push the boundaries of fashion while honoring timeless principles.
The S/S 2025 collection, “The Wonder of Diversity,” captures a broad spectrum of creativity and beauty. Son Jung Wan will unveil new styles inspired by the enduring charm of retro mood and innovative spirit of postmodernism. This season’s collection revolves around a powerful concept: the celebration of diversity in women’s beauty. Son Jung Wan showcased a range of volumized silhouettes, a meticulously curated color palette and intricately crafted appliqués, including beautifully articulated Sequins, Shiny Tulle and Embossed Jacquard to portray her own elegant medley of classic romance and contemporary edge. This season’s collection is set to be a captivating display of artistry.

The runway show itself was a dynamic and engaging presentation that perfectly captured the spirit of the collection. Models of various ethnicities and ages walked the runway, embodying the theme of diversity and inclusivity. GG: Where did your inspiration for this collection come from?
SJW: I was inspired by the charm of the retro mood and innovative spirit of postmodernism. When I created my collection, I wanted to embrace the diversity of women’s beauty and show the volumized silhouette with my own elegant medley of classic romance and contemporary edge.
GG: What do you want people to feel when they wear your clothes?
SJW: I want them to feel happy.
GG: Among all the great collections you have created, where does this one rank? Is it your favorite?
SJW: I love every collection I have created.
GG: What’s next for you and the Son Jung Wan brand?
SJW: Top secret. You have to come back to the next show.
GG: For young and upcoming designers from Korea and all around the world who aspire to be like you, what do you want them to know about what it takes to make it in this industry?
SJW: Love your life and yourself. Take care of yourself and do your best all the time.
