If there is one thing we have missed over the last two years of scaled-down fashion weeks, it is the infamous Philipp Plein fashion show and afterparty that is usually the highlight of every fashion week – whether it is Milan or New York City. The good news: Philipp Plein is back! And his latest presentation and afterparty during Milan’s Men’s Week was his biggest yet. Over 6,000 people came to see the new Plein Sport presentation.
The SS23 collection offers high-quality sportswear with black and white the most common and dominant color. The Plein Sport logo is visibly printed on it in its usual fashion. We also really like the silver-metallic puffer jackets that will be ideal to be worn during the winter to get you from your home to the gym. For lovers of animal prints, the collection also includes track suit with a zebra and leopard print.
The centerpiece of the presentation was a truck that Plein purchased from the Formula 1 team McLaren. It will be converted into a 2-story retail store with 120 sqm of retail space that is equipped with over 300 pairs of Plein shoes, fitting rooms and screens for NFTs. It will travel all across Europe (Italy, Germany, France, Spain and Austria have been announced), staying a week at any given location. Of course, clients will be able to purchase their latest Plein fashion with cryptocurrency.
Attendees celebrated until late at night. London-born DJ Damian Lazarus was showing off his latest beats all night and the inside of the hall soon transformed into a massive dancefloor. The highlight of the area outside was a giant free fall tower. Even Philipp himself couldn’t resist and went for a ride. All in all, the event was a big success and reminded us about what we have truly missed in the last two years – fashion week parties hosted by Philipp Plein.
