As thousands of movie professionals, celebrities and socialites gather in the South of France for the Cannes Film Festival and Monaco GP, Philipp Plein has his own plans. The German designer hosted a spectacular black-tie cocktail soiree at the Grand-Hotel du Cap-Ferrat, one of the most iconic hotels in the world. As usual, when Philipp Plein hosts an event, starts and celebrities follow his invitation. Among the guests in attendance were Maye Musk and artist Alec Monopoly.
The event kicked off with a presentation of Plein’s latest watch collection – the Crypto King and Crypto Queen. Truly one-of-a-kind, the Crypto King & Crypto Queen project combines a hyper-luxurious timepiece with an NFT. Debuting at Watches and Wonders 2023, the collection comprises Crypto King and six Crypto Queen time machines and serves as the first phygitial project, demonstrating Philipp Plein’s finesse at combining innovation and luxury to create something wholly unique. Further adding to their value and exclusivity, the watches are entirely Made in Switzerland.
This ambitious project comes after the overwhelming success of Philipp Plein fashion watches, launched in 2021 by Philipp Plein together with its license partner, Timex Group. Today, Philipp Plein fashion watches are distributed in over 4000 points of sale in 60 countries worldwide and have been the most successful new entry in the fashion watches’ market since many years. These watches can only be bought at these special events, so if you want one of these watches, make sure you get on the guestlist next time. But you may have to be patient. The demand is currently so high that there is a six month wait until you will get you watch. You can choose to have it delivered to your home, to a Philipp Plein boutique near you or to the Plein headquarters.
The Crypto King and Crypto Queen are exclusively sold at Philipp Plein events across the world, so make sure you are on the guestlist if you want one of these timepieces. But you may have to be patient. The project is going so well that there is currently a six month waitlist. As Plein himself said: “The DNA of the Philipp Plein brand has always been about uncompromised luxury and exclusivity. I feel that bringing my brand in the Swiss made, luxury watch segment is a move consistent with the positioning of the brand Philipp Plein and of its products. I am, by nature, an innovator and a disruptor who believes in his dreams until they come true and, in my case, this attitude proved to be successful.”
After the presentation, guests walked towards the beautiful garden of the Grand-Hotel du Cap-Ferrat where they enjoyed watching a stunning sunset while sipping champagne. It was the perfect setting and occasion to mix and mingle with fellow Plein enthusiasts, hit the dancefloor or just quietly soak in the sunset.
