A Letter From the Retrofête Creative Director:
Fall 2024 explores the bounds of sexuality, reflecting upon my own self discovery. As a child, secretly playing dress up in my mother’s bedroom, I would try on her high heels and red lipstick. Watching myself transform in the mirror, my innate love for fashion was born.
Surrounded by powerful women across all facets of my life, I find myself drawn to their fierce energy. This feeling comes to life through my designs, unveiling the collection’s focal point: The Alpha Woman. Both professional and provocative, she is the embodiment of timeless glamour. Setting the scene for this season, the ’80s are reimagined as we draw back the curtain on this sophisticated starlet.
Business woman by day. Always polished, she commands the room with standout suiting. Find a tailored uniform that elevates the dress code with cinched blazer dresses, banker pinstripes, and fully coordinated sets that introduce the fourth piece—the matching overcoat. Exaggerated shoulders and cummerbund inspired belt detailing build a refined workwear assortment, designed to take her from office to date night. Bows adorned on dresses and tops offer a touch of feminine elegance and color-blocking adds dimension. Never sacrificing style for function, her wardrobe complements her uncompromising attitude.
Femme fatale by night. All eyes on her as she slips into the twilight wearing a sultry red dress. Her bold and fearless presence remains constant as she trades power suits for unapologetically sexy details. Lace garters and corset bodices peek through, revealing her inner most desires. You catch a glimpse of her pointed toe stiletto and swiss dot stockings as she steps out of a vintage sports car. Decorated with oversized statement jewelry and an elongated clutch, each accessory enhances the moment. Sheer passion surrounds her as she sips a martini at the cocktail lounge. Red lipstick smudges linger on her cigarette, glass, and napkin.
An offering of deep, moody hues evoke a sensual seduction—the compelling energy of new romance. Shades of cherry and cabernet are contrasted by neutral tones of tuscan tan, slate grey, and ink blue—modern classics. Fall 2024 pays homage to the duality of the working woman, who curates her daily ensemble with signature poise. A cinematic experience awakened, Retrofête welcomes you to an evening at The Plaza.
