One of New York’s most opulent and sought-after mansions just hit the market. 5E 64th St, better known as the Versace-Style Grand Mansion, just hit the market. Sotheby’s has listed the property. It’s price? $70 million! Fashion legend Gianni Versace himself once curated this mansion and the current owners meticulously restored it to its opulent, royal condition. It is located on Manhattan’s ritzy and uber-wealthy Upper East Side, right by of the world-famous Central Park.
The limestone mansion measured 35 ft by 100 ft and features 17 luxurious rooms on six levels that cover more than 14,000 square feet on the interior and a rooftop with more than 3,000 square feet of space. From there, you will have magnificent views of Fifth and Madison Avenue – New York at its best. The mansion has 7 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms and 3 half baths.
Versace himself redesigned the villa to include intricate Italian marble floors, painted ceilings and walls, mosaics and Austrian parquet floors. On the garden level, a fountained reception area leads to the dramatic Grand Dining Room. The canvas walls are hand painted and inspired from Robert Adam’s Etruscan Room in Osterley Park.
The upper two levels were redesigned in a lighter, more whimsical manner. These levels include terrazzo floorings with marble inserts, 4 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, a Game Lounge with billiards and arcade games and a Moroccan-style Media Room
Of course, the mansion features everything that $70 million can buy you: advanced security systems, multi-zoned HVAC systems, Kaleidoscope music system, its own generators and water pumps so you will always have essential services and much more. Among the amenities are a billiard room, elevators, a health club and gym, a media room and gardens. Versace-inspired furnishings are also available for purchase.
