Tips For Working From Home Office Bliss

We are officially past the one year mark of going into a worldwide pandemic, and at this point it’s safe to say that many of us feel like we’ve gone insane from working from home. While we’re waiting for vaccines to become available to the general public, there’s still a bit of time to go before the work environment goes back to “normal”. In the meantime, here are some tips for surviving working from home:

  • Dress Up

Remember the expression, “When you look good, you feel good.” While the idea may seem silly or feel a little off at first, there’s nothing quite like dressing up to help one adjust their mood. Even if it’s switching out your sweatpants for a pair of jeans or a cute T-shirt dress, dressing up will help perk up your mood and give your days a little bit more variation.

  • Take Breaks

Working from home and living our lives largely by the draw of our phones and or our computers, it’s hard to get an actual break from the screen. Set aside some time in your day to step away from the screen and give your eyes and mind a chance to relax. This can be anything from taking a nap to your favorite soundtrack to taking regular, masked of course, walks around your neighborhood. 

  • Schedule Therapy

Just as it’s important to focus on your physical health during a worldwide pandemic, it’s important to focus on your mental wellbeing. This is the first time in this generation that we are dealing with a situation as intense as this one, and the fact that it’s been going on for over a year was a reality none of us were prepared for. If you don’t have one already, now’s a great time to seek out therapy and focus on your mental health. Now more than ever there are options for people with different price points and, of course, plenty of resources for virtual counseling as well.
