New York City officially kicked off the summer with The 9th Annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, or #VCPOLOCLASSIC. Celebrities, socialites and the who’s who of New York City take the ferry over to the Liberty State Park for a day of polo, picnics, and champagne.
One of the most fashionable events in NYC every summer, the Polo Classic provides gorgeous views of the skyline as well as preppy instagram-worthy photo ops around the park. This year’s guest list included: Elizabeth Olsen, Michael B. Jordan, Jaimie Alexander, Rose Byrne, Nikki Hilton, Phoebe Tonkin as well as models and athletes.
The ladies traded in their pumps for wedges while the gentlemen were decked out with fabulous pastel cotton suits and polka-dotted silk pocket squares. It’s interesting to see that the outfits worn at the event begin to trend for the rest of the summer. For six hours, attendees enjoy glasses and bottles of champagne, a polo match, the food trucks and djs.
Missed out this time? Don’t sweat it. You do not have to be a celebrity to attend this highly anticipated event. Every year Veuve Clicquot releases a limited number of general admission tickets starting at $65 USD While general admission will get you into the event, the Rose Garden is where you will want to be to see familiar faces. Tickets for the Rose Garden are upwards of $400 USD but the perks are well worth it (no waiting on line, bottle of champagne included, plus access to the secluded garden.) Attendees are also allowed to bring outside food and non-alcoholic beverages, beach chairs, picnic blankets, etc., to make their day experience more pleasant than just sitting on the grass.
Tickets for next year’s event go on sale in March, so mark that on your calendar. Situated on the West Coast? You’ll be happy to know the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic also takes place in Los Angeles. More fashionable highlights here.
